Here's what we discovered, before and after modification. What do you think? What will the noise levels be for residents and nearby businesses? Will the children have enough space to play - or even move?

Playtime at the new West End school?

The SNP should hang their heads in shame, as should the councillors and government officials who have enabled this hugely expensive, unpopular and worst new school proposal in Scotland to get to this stage.
ReplyDeleteThe manipulation, deceit and incompetence that have been encountered along the way have been truly astonishing.
What a rotten, rotten borough Dundee is.
Pity thay can't build the playground on three levels as well!
ReplyDeleteThe choice for Dundee is simple.
ReplyDeleteEither huge council cutbacks in jobs and services OR stopping sub-standard school projects as they have recently announced in Westminster and saving tens of millions of pounds.
I hope all those who lose their jobs and services as a result of the council spending £11.5m+ on this desperate school will visit City Chambers and tell Ken Guild and Liz Fordyce just exactly what they think of their shambolic SNP administration.
Absolutely shocking. How any adult can morally allow children to have such sub standard conditions just baffles me! There must be some bleary eyed folk walking about!
ReplyDeleteI have just seen this drawing and I blown away with shock. Surely this can't be accurate yet you said the figures were based on the sketch of the children they had added. If you are correct and this is how much playing space the children will have then this should be sent to panarama as an example of what is to come for the kids of this courntry. I just cant quite believe that it is true. No governmetn would allow this , would they?
ReplyDelete@Anonymous 01/09/2010 09:49 - the drawing is simply a sketch using the council's own sketch, so presumably neither can be treated as wholly accurate. However, if the council wishes for parents to use the council's sketch to indicate the scale of this new building, then we feel it is only fair for parents to see how the space might be used, if the number of children in the playground were extrapolated, as we have suggested.
